Chrysanthemums are among my favorite flowers;

as a Japanese person, I feel a deep cultural bond with them.

This painting is my most personal work, rooted in the spirit of Wabi-sabi

—the realization that nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.

I chose a raw, textured background over a 'perfectly' bloomed flower.
