These are series of four panels : "M8" (top left), "Seismogram Study" (top right), "5.5" (bottom left), "22 "(bottom right).
If you were living in Japan, you would frequently experience earthquakes.
After I took an earthquake class as a requirement of my degree,
I kept a lot of the seismogram graphs in my pile of papers on my bookshelf.
I painted the movements - and fear they cause - in these paintings.
“M8” signifies the earthquake magnitude, while “5.5” refers to the earthquake magnitude scale.
At magnitude 5.5, earthquakes can cause slight damage to buildings and other structures.
